Chloe Wilson

What is the central idea behind your concentration?

The central idea behind my concentration is attempting to master the element of line. To begin this process I’m going to take photographs of my friends and draw them, using charcoal, in detail. There will be 4 drawings made of each person, and each one will become more simplified until they are basic line drawings capturing the main ideas of their figure. My inspiration behind this comes from two artists from two very different periods in art; Pablo Picasso and Elizabeth Peyton. I admire their work for the simplicity and the individualism and hope to obtain skills like theirs.

In five years from now Chloe Wilson will be still making art. She will live near or in a forest and spend free time painting outside in nature.
